Lusetian Mountains

Visit the Emperor Ferdinand Youth Hostel, a newly reconstructed building owned and operated by a non-profit organisation, the Association of Youth Hiking Groups.

The villa dating from the beginning of the twentieth century has undergone general reconstruction work thanks to money received from European funds and from the Czech Ministry of Education. It is suitable for young individual hikers (back-packers) and family groups and for holding school and company events and weddings. The facility's basic capacity is 37 people, but this can be increased to 44.

Non-profit organisations can receive accommodation discounts, as can students with ISIC cards and holders of a Czech Hostel Card (Česká hostelová karta: ČHK).

The hostel has been fitted out in the style of the Austrian Empire and it has been named after Emperor Ferdinand (1793-1875) who stayed in this area and prayed in the nearby natural chapel.

We provide accommodation in three to seven-bed rooms. There is a games room, a modern self-catering kitchen, a club-room and a hall in the building with a car park and natural playground nearby.

The municipality of Sloup is located in a picturesque landscape in the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains. Nearby, there is an outdoor swimming pool, sandstone cliffs, the Zákupy renaissance château and the impressive Modlivý důl rock chapel.

The hostel is an excellent starting point for hiking and cycling trips, while in winter it serves as a starting point for skiing trips.
